This pen turning kit contains everything you need to make three beautiful brass plated, hardwood pens. The kit is supplied with both a No 1 and a No 2 morse taper pen mandrel, ensuring that it will work with all major brands of wood turning lathes worldwide. In addition we have had the pen mandrel extended to accept pen blanks up to 160mm in length, so no matter what size of pen or pencil you wish to turn in the future this kit will handle it with ease.

The kit is supplied in an aluminium storage case with a bespoke foam inner to organise and protect the contents. The kit contains the No 1 and No 2 pen mandrel, 5 x spacer bushes, pen blank trimming tool, 7mm HSS drill bit, 3 x brass plated pen kits, 3 x hardwood blanks and a stick of woodturning wax polish. To use the kit you simply drill the pen blank using the supplied bit, saw the blank in half, insert and glue the pen tubes into the blanks, trim the ends of the blanks with the trimming tool and then mount both blanks onto the pen mandrel. You then turn the blanks to your desired contour, polish with the supplied wax, remove the turned blanks from the mandrel and insert and press the pen components into the turned blanks, typically using a parallel jaw clamp. You then have a beautifully crafted bespoke pen.
